Apiary labourers (beekeepers)

Nolte Apiaries LTD. Seeking 6 Apiary labourers: NOC 85100 Wage: $18.34-$23/hr. Season full-time from March 03, to November 30, 2016. No experience, no education required on the job training will be provided. Might be eligible for performance bonus at the end of the season. Working hours: At least 30 hours per week from 7A.M. till 4P.M. Job Duties and Responsibilities:- Supering hives.Pulling honey.- Cleaning and maintenance of honey extraction & storage equipment. Barrel moving preparation, filling & storage. Help feeding bees if needed, and/or handling, transportation of bees & equipment and use of hand tools, forklifts and or farm trucks. Manufacture, assemble, maintain hive equipment. Bee yard maintenance. Other Requirements and Qualifications: Some of the tasks are preformed outside in all kinds of weather. Although automation and mechanization have helped, the work is often repetitive and physically demanding, requiring some self motivation. They must follow safety precautions and wear appropriate protective clothing to avoid injury to themselves or others when working with machinery, tools or hives. Appropriate hygiene practices must be followed to prevent or control the spread of diseases from hive to hive or the contamination of the hive products. Apiary Harvesters may routinely lift items weighing up to 20 kilograms or more. No allergies to honey products or bee stings as exposure may occur. Valid class 5 drivers license will be an asset.
